Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Monday assured the rain and snow affected people of NWFP the government would leave no stone un-turned in helping them in that hour of trial. He was talking to the Pakistan Muslim League (PML) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain who met him at the Prime Minister's House to discuss the relief operation being carried out by government for the rain and snow affected people in NWFP.

The PML President was accompanied by the PML Secretary General Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed and District Nazim Swat Mian Gul Asfandyar Zeb.

A number of proposals and measures for further expediting the relief efforts came under discussion during the meeting.

The District Nazim Swat apprised the Prime Minister of damage caused by torrential rains to the roads and buildings in Swat, Kalam and Malam Jabba.

He urged the Prime Minister to arrange medicines, food and relief goods for the worst affected areas on priority basis.

The Prime Minister directed the authorities to airlift relief goods to the affected areas urgently.

Shaukat Aziz further stated that substantial relief was already being provided to the affected areas and link of those areas with rest of the country was being restored.

The Prime Minister lauded the courage, high morale and spirit of the people with which they had faced that natural calamity.
